Hapé—pronounced "hah-PEH" and also written as rapé, rapeh, or hape—is a sacred Amazonian tobacco snuff that has been prepared and used ceremonially by indigenous tribes of the Amazon basin for thousands of years. Traditional hapé is made from powdered mapacho (sacred jungle tobacco) blended with the medicinal ashes of specific trees and plants, ground and prayed over by the medicine men and women who prepare it.
Unlike recreational tobacco, hapé is not smoked and not inhaled—it is gently blown into the nostrils using a self-applicator pipe called a kuripe (for personal practice) or a serving pipe called a tepi (when served by another). Received with intention, hapé is used for grounding and centering, clearing the mind and energy field, deepening meditation and prayer, connecting with the spirit of Father Tobacco, and supporting ceremony with other sacred medicines.
But there is a right way and a wrong way to work with sacred tobacco. Used casually or without understanding, hapé can become just another habit—or worse, an energetic burden. Used with knowledge, reverence, and correct technique, it becomes one of the most grounding and heart-opening allies on the medicine path. That is exactly what this online hapé training teaches: how to work with rapé in right relationship—safely, traditionally, and with integrity.
This first training is your foundation. Whether you have never touched a kuripe or have been self-applying rapé for years without formal teaching, Hapé Training 1 gives you what most people working with this medicine never receive: the ancestral context, energetic understanding, and correct technique to build a personal hapé practice that is safe, grounded, and truly devotional.
Most people learn to use hapé from a friend at a ceremony or a random video—and it shows. They take the medicine without prayer, build tolerance instead of relationship, and wonder why the connection fades. This training teaches you how to sit with sacred tobacco the way it has been sat with for generations: as a teacher, a protector, and an ally.
By the end of Training 1, you won't just know how to use hapé—you'll know how to be in relationship with it, for life.

Hapé Training 2 is where your connection to the medicine expands into sacred service. Serving rapé to another person is not the same as serving yourself—when you pick up the tepi, you take responsibility for someone else's experience, their energy, and their safety. This training teaches you to carry that responsibility the way a true facilitator does.
You'll learn how to serve hapé as a ceremonial and healing medicine: how to prepare yourself and the space, how to read the person in front of you, how to choose dosage and timing, how to hold them through purging and release, and how to protect your own energy while you serve. This is the training for anyone called to bring hapé into their ceremonies, healing practice, or community—and who wants to do it right.
Complete both trainings and you'll hold the full arc—from your own devoted practice to serving the medicine with skill, humility, and power.

Txana Seberūa is a medicine man of the Huni Kuin people of the Brazilian Amazon, with over a decade lived in devotion to the sacred plants. Raised within a living lineage of tobacco medicine, he has walked the traditional path of dieta, prayer, and apprenticeship that true curanderos walk—and he makes hapé the way his ancestors made it: by hand, with traditional methods, sacred ashes, and prayer sung into every batch.
In this training, Txana transmits what is almost never available outside the jungle: the oral teachings, songs, and ancestral understanding of Father Tobacco, directly from the source tradition.

Shamama is a modern medicine woman and ceremonial guide who has facilitated hundreds of sacred ceremonies, walking with hapé, and the wider family of Amazonian medicines, in deep devotion for years. Her gift is translation: taking the raw power of traditional medicine ways and making them safe, understandable, and genuinely livable for people navigating modern life.
In this training, Shamama teaches the practical arc—technique, safety, energetic hygiene, ceremony structure, and the honest inner work of the medicine path—so that what you learn doesn't stay theory, but becomes practice.
